農曆四月初八，為本師釋迦牟尼佛聖誕之日，渥太華佛光山 謹訂於 5月16日 啟建 「慶祝佛陀聖誕浴佛法會暨佛光日全球同步抄經」。
- 上午10點 舉行佛誕節浴佛法會，屆時虔備香花燈果，供養十方諸佛菩薩，祈求疫情早日平息，大眾生活恢復正常，國泰民安世界和平。
- 下午7點，慶祝佛光山開山55周年，全球同步「雲端抄經」修持。
浴佛、抄經功德殊勝，當天將以 Youtube視訊直播，法師於佛前誦經祈福並宣讀文疏功德回向，屆時誠邀大眾連線，共襄盛舉、同霑法益。

「我今灌沐諸如來，淨智莊嚴功德海，五濁眾生離塵垢，同証如來淨法身」
國曆4月30日(農曆四月初八)為佛誕節又名「浴佛節」，其實，佛陀哪裡需要我們為他浴佛？所謂「浴佛」者，是要浴我們的心，主要的還是要讓我們藉由浴佛的機會來淨化自己的身心，所謂「浴佛、浴人、浴心」。
佛陀是個慈悲、智慧的覺者，就像眾生的慈母一樣，無我無私的為眾生服務，加持一切群靈含識吉祥安樂，因此真正的「浴佛」，主要是藉著佛陀的聖德來清淨我們的身心，讓我們沐浴在佛陀的慈光裏，讓我們的人生能不斷的更新。
佛陀是一個歷史人物，是一個大覺者，他自覺、覺他、覺行圓滿，自度度人、自利利他，我們要效法他的精神，人生在世不要光為自己，要普利大眾，與人結緣、對人慈悲、為人服務、給人幫助。看起來待人好是對別人好，實際上也是對自己好。等於一塊田，你不去播種，怎麼會生長禾苗、開花結果？所以，人的一生，心田裡要有信仰，信仰成長了，就能獲得喜悅、利益的功德。
現今全球疫情嚴峻，為讓各位佛光人、護法信徒可供逢「佛光山2021年慶祝佛誕節」盛會，特此設立線上雲端浴佛，讓大眾可在家或公司等地進行浴佛淨心，相關網址如附，歡迎一同上線恭逢此會，希望未來大家都能與佛一樣，解脫自在。

⭐ 慶祝佛光山開山55周年，依循例於5月16日當天發起「全球同步抄經修持」。
讓受新冠病毒疫情影響，無法前來道場抄經的大眾，一樣可以一同抄寫《心經》，同沾佛光山開山日的法喜，並以此抄經功德回向疫情早日遠離，普羅大眾平安吉祥。還可以透過電子郵件，將這份善美與歡喜，傳播給親朋好友。

- 10:00 AM: Online Bathing Buddha Dharma Service
- 7:00 PM: Global Simultaneous Sutra Transcription Event
❤️️️ 10:00 AM: The merits of bathing the Buddha will be dedicated to all beings. Our own defilements of greed, hatred and anger will be purified. We will pray for peace and harmony in our lives and on Earth. May Buddha bless everyone and keep them healthy and safe.

Fo Guang Shan Virtual Bathing of the Buddha
In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, Fo Guang Shan will hold its 2021 Buddha’s Birthday Celebration once again with the Virtual Bathing of the Buddha for those unable to personally visit a temple. Join us online by using your computer mouse as a ladle to bathe Prince Siddhartha. May we purify our minds and unite in prayer for the world through the Virtual Bathing of the Buddha.

Instruction: After you “START”, please join your palms for a few seconds. Follow the visual indicators, the moving hand and glowing light to pick up the ladle to bathe the Buddha. While bathing Prince Siddhartha, say the words displayed on the screen as they guide you to make the following vows: “I vow to do good deeds, I vow to speak good words, and I vow to think good thoughts.” With the merits of bathing the Buddha, we pray for the pandemic to end, as well as for familial harmony and world peace.
